Fight For First Place

Maidstone came out and had the advantage. Maidstone was able to take some well placed shots on goal but by chance, the Tortorella defense was able to prevent the ball from entering the net. On one play, Gehider Garcia took a shot at an open net but before the ball could enter the net, Diego Guachambo kicked the ball out of danger. Later on, Gehider Garcia has the ball and is heading towward the Tortorella goal. Only Dario Garcia, Tortorella goalie, is in front of him. Diego Guachambo of Tortorella is able to catch up to Gehider and trips him just outside the goalie box. A direct kick is given to Maidstone. Diego Marles of Maidstone would take the direct kick and fired the ball toward the right side but Dario Garcia of Tortorella dived and pushed the ball just wide of the near post for a great save. Tortorella during this time did not have an effective offensive drive.

Maidstone Scores With Minutes Left

During the second half of play, Maidstone was not playing their game. Since no one was able to score up to this point, Tortorella was playing a better match and keeping Maidstone at bay. They seemed to be frustrated that they were not able to score. Maidstone kept on attacking and had several well placed shots on goal that Dario Garcia had to save. Roger Quniceno of Maidstone blasted a shot from about 30 yards out the hit the far goal post and bounced back into play.

Maidstone was able to score when John Romero had the ball and shot it toward the near post. Standing there was Jefferson Ramirez who headed the ball into the net to give Maidstone the lead.

Tortorella kept on attacking and had a better attack but could not put the ball into the net. Rudolf Marin of Tortorella blasted a shot but Alex Mesa saved it. Maidstone kept on attacking and Dario Garcia needed to produce several more saves. A great win for Maidstone.
